Inspirations of Spring:
“What Artistic and Scientific Experience Have in Common”- by Albert Einstein.
Like many creative people I wonder at times about the purpose or meaning in what I’m creating…and the instinct that inspires me to capture a moment. Since picking up a copy of “The Artist’s Way” late last year I’ve been exploring this more. I have always been as fascinated by science as I have by art, stemming from a general curiosity and desire to understand the universe we live in. As much as I enjoy reading scientific theory, my skills like more in artistic work. These words by the great Albert Einstein, and many more he has said on the correlation between art and science resonate deeply with me.
I photographed these roses in the botanic gardens while I was living Sydney in November 2015. As I took each photo I was immersed in the intricacy and beauty of each rose, each petal all in their different stages of bloom and decay. I moved with them in the fragrance and breeze. Each so intricate to the infinitesimally small detail, and each having its part in an infinitely larger universe.
