Run. Skip. Jump. Dance. Play. Life is an adventure. Live it big and bright in vivid colour.
I had been thinking of a photoshoot like this for a while, but wanted to wait till Holi to celebrate the festival. I photographed this with a group of friends who are all Latin dancers or Zumba instructors. They all exude such positive energy and enthusiasm and are willing to give anything a go. They are the people that really brought this project to life!
Holi is an Indian Spring time festival. Every year once Winter is over, Holi is celebrated on the day after the full moon in early March, commemorating the colour, abundance and fertility of the new season. The celebration begins by the lighting of a bonfire on Holi eve, followed by a full day of festivities including dance, music, food and throwing of coloured powders and water. Like many festivals the revelry brings a little relaxation of rules and you can get away with things you wouldn’t normally be able to do…by saying “Don’t Mind, It’s Holi”!
