Although traveling and doing photoshoots in new places is defiantly exciting and inspiring, there is something enjoyable about photographing in your own city, in familiar places and seeing them from a new angle.
Last week I photographed a fashion story for Naudic and one of our key locations was the unique architecture of Kurilpa Bridge, with the Brisbane skyline behind us.
It reminded me of the first time I photographed there. This was back in 2011. I was doing a portfolio series with a male model who was visiting from overseas.
That day the weather turned on us and we ended up photographing in the rain over a swirling river, right before the 2011 floods. That atmosphere and the criss-crossing lines of the bridge created something of an edgy and uneasy mood which is something I still love about these pictures.
