Kingscliff, Australia |
A retreat at Mantra resort. Endless beach stretching to the horizon. Fresh breakfast buffet. Perfect ocean waters. Tranquil morning walks along the beach feet in the sand and cool waves, two dogs playing chase, and little children enjoying a swim before the day gets too warm. Refreshing pool dips. Afternoon naps or anytime naps. Sunsets over Mount Warning. Peace and quiet.
Never wanted to leave. Take me back.
I was chatting to my boyfriend about how in school and uni days we always had a break every 6-8 weeks. You’d start the term, learn new things, build up to projects and exams…and then have time off. Somehow as adults we have forgotten to do this and just expect ourselves to keep on going. Or to save up those little breaks and go travelling instead. But travelling the way I tend to do it isn’t really a break in terms of resting and relaxing. Long flights are tiring and in excitement I want to see as much as possible.
So this year in keeping with consciously taking a slower pace I’ve decided to have a little retreat every 6 weeks or so. No phones, no computers, no internet just good company and living in the moment. And a couple of my friends have also decided to do the same.
So here’s a few days relaxing I enjoyed with my family at Kingscliff.
